Declan Knies

Declan Knies

Logisticizer

Declan Knies is an avalanche researcher, hazards geologist, and ski mountaineer based in Golden, British Columbia. He is fascinated by the interface of terrain and snowpack in alpine environments and is constantly seeking unique locations to study and explore.
GIS mapping is where his professional and personal worlds collide; a deep passion for seeing and understanding the world has led to the creation of maps, tools, and user-facing products to visualize and model environmental hazard.
Declan seeks unusual and unexpected ski locations like Peru, where he recently led an expedition skiing three 5000m peaks and one 6000m peak. The more remote, unskied, and unknown an objective, the more stoke he has in finding the goods within.
